BBC Learning English is a section of the BBC World Service devoted to the teaching of English to foreigners. Ten years ago it was called just "BBC English" and more than 15 years ago - "English by Radio".
World Service started broadcast English language teaching programmes back in 1945. There were programmes for beginners, for intermediate and advanced learners, for adult learners and children for people having different interests.
